Meet Our Founders

Mrs. Kelly Conroy has been teaching since 1992 and knew she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was in second grade and had one of the most caring teachers ever. Mrs. Conroy gained early acceptance to Keene State College and received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in mathematics education. After graduation, her first job was teaching Kindergarten through Sixth grades in Reading, Vermont, where she worked for four years. Realizing she wanted to be a better teacher, Mrs. Conroy moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to attend the University of Colorado (UCCS). She graduated in 2000 with her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in gifted and talented instruction.
While attending UCCS, she also taught in Academy School District #20, teaching first through fourth grades at Rockrimmon and Academy International Elementary (AIES) Schools and served as the Talented and Gifted Coordinator at AIES. Mrs. Conroy had the distinct honor and privilege of being a part of a fantastic staff, which opened Academy International Elementary, the first public school International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program in North America. She taught at AIES until departing after the 2002-2003 school year to begin raising her family. She returned to teaching in 2017 after being hired at Hickory Ridge Academy in Chesapeake, Virginia.
In the summer of 2020, Mrs. Conroy received a certificate in autism education from Liberty University. Her passion continues to be educating each child as a unique person created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). In the fall of 2020, Mrs. Conroy co-founded and opened Bridge Way Preparatory (BWP) Christian School and continues to follow the path God is leading her and cannot wait to see the plans He has for BWPCS. Outside of education, Mrs. Conroy enjoys spending time with her husband Justin and their three daughters (Jillian 18, Stephanie 15, & Abigail 14). They enjoy traveling and visiting different parts of the United States as well as other countries.
